ADVANTAGES

What makes tablets a strong supplement format.

Dense dosing in a smaller footprint

Tablets compress more active ingredient into a smaller pill than capsules of the same size. The right choice when your formulation requires high dosing without an oversized supplement.

Lowest cost per dose

Tablets are the most cost-efficient supplement format to manufacture. When you want competitive shelf pricing or larger pack counts at a reasonable price, tablets stretch your margin further.

Coating options for taste and release

Enteric coatings protect ingredients from stomach acid. Sustained-release coatings extend absorption over hours. Sugar or film coatings mask bitter actives. Pick the right coating for your formulation.

SPECIFICATIONS

Specs available for private label tablets.

The most common questions from brand owners are about sizes, materials, fill capacity, and minimums. Here is the short answer for each.

Round, Oval, Caplet

Shape Options

Round tablets are the standard. Oval and caplet shapes are easier to swallow for higher-dose products. Custom shapes available for higher-volume orders.

Coating Types

Uncoated, film-coated (taste masking), sugar-coated, enteric-coated (acid-resistant). Coating choice depends on your active ingredients and customer experience requirements.

100mg - 1500mg

Active Dose Range

Tablets compress significantly more active per pill than capsules. Higher doses possible than other formats. Our formulators help right-size for swallowing comfort.

WHY PRAXERA FOR TABLETS

How we provide tablets for private label.

Every batch of tablets goes through ingredient identity verification, in-process hardness and disintegration testing, and finished-product testing for identity, purity, potency, and contaminants before release. Coating operations run on the same site, so your private label tablets ship customer-ready without an outside packaging handoff.

Categories where tablets shine

Some health categories work better in tablets than others. Here are the ones where this format is the natural choice.

Tablets questions we hear most often

Quick answers to the questions brand owners ask before they commit.

Are tablets vegetarian by default?

Yes. Standard tablets use plant-derived binders and excipients, so the format is vegetarian by default. We can also formulate tablets to specific dietary positioning (vegan, kosher, halal) with appropriate ingredient sourcing.

What is the difference between enteric-coated and standard tablets?

Standard tablets disintegrate in the stomach. Enteric-coated tablets are designed to bypass stomach acid and release in the small intestine. Use enteric coating for ingredients that are degraded by stomach acid (some probiotics, certain enzymes) or that cause stomach upset (fish oil, some herbs).

Can tablets be scored for splitting?

Yes. Tablets can be manufactured with a score line so customers can split a dose in half. This is common for higher-dose products where customers may want flexibility in serving size.

What is the typical shelf life for tablets?

Most tablet formulations have a 24 to 36-month shelf life depending on actives and packaging. Tablets are generally one of the most shelf-stable supplement formats due to their compressed density and low moisture content.

Can you do chewable tablets through the same line?

Chewable tablets are a different formulation and process from standard tablets. They use different excipients (sugar alcohols, flavor systems, lower hardness profiles) for palatability. See our private label chewables page for more on that format.
