Do you offer vegan soft gels?

Plant-based soft gel alternatives exist but have limited compatibility with the types of actives soft gels are typically used for (oils, oil-soluble vitamins). For vegan positioning on these actives, vegetarian capsules with oil-fill are usually the better option. Talk to our team about your specific formulation.

How do you prevent oxidation of fish oil and other sensitive actives?

Soft gels are sealed under controlled conditions to minimize oxygen exposure. We also add antioxidants (mixed tocopherols, rosemary extract) to oil fills to extend stability. Finished product testing includes peroxide value (PV) and anisidine value (AV) to verify freshness on release.

What is the typical shelf life for a soft gel product?

Most soft gel formulations have an 18 to 24-month shelf life depending on the actives. Fish oil and other PUFAs have shorter intrinsic stability than fat-soluble vitamins. Stability testing for longer claims (36 months) available on request.

Can you do enteric-coated soft gels?

Yes. Enteric soft gels bypass stomach acid and release in the small intestine. Common for fish oil to prevent reflux and fishy aftertaste, and for some probiotic and enzyme formulations.

What colors are available for soft gel shells?

Soft gels can be manufactured in a wide range of colors using both natural and FD&C-approved colorants. Clear, amber, and opaque finishes available. Color choice often signals the active inside (yellow for vitamin D, amber for omega-3) and can be customized to your brand.
